ABOUT ME
II am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Master’s Degree from Antioch University, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. With over seven years of experience in mental health and social services, I specialize in working with individuals facing addiction, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma.
I began my career at a local non-profit family services agency and have spent the past four years as the lead therapist for a justice-involved wraparound program in San Luis Obispo County. In this role, I support individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, severe mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. My work also includes extensive experience with preteens, adolescents, and families, particularly during critical developmental stages and while navigating complex systems such as child welfare and the criminal justice system.
I am trained in suicide awareness, prevention, and management, and I am committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care that empowers individuals to build healthier, more stable lives.
OUR SESSIONS
In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to identify the most effective approach to support you in achieving your goals. I draw on interventions that emphasize present-moment awareness, mind-body integration, and the importance of staying with emotions rather than avoiding them. This process helps challenge limiting beliefs and fosters new, more empowering perspectives.
I strive to bring my authentic self into our work and encourage you to do the same. My goal is to empower you to become the expert in your own experience. As we build insight together, you will develop greater confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges, access your internal strengths, and apply personalized coping strategies that emerge through our therapeutic process.
Authentic change is possible when individuals feel safe enough to be their true selves. Our work will include moments of insight, connection, and even humor—alongside times that may feel difficult or uncomfortable. Rather than avoiding these moments, we will approach them with curiosity and compassion, using them as opportunities to grow and build resilience.
I am especially passionate about supporting individuals in the journey of self-actualization, strengthening self-worth, and improving communication and self-advocacy skills to create a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
